Citizen Watch Europe GmbH. the efforts to search for new opportunities began as early as 1918. In 1918, the Shoukousha Watch Research Institute was founded, from which later the CITIZEN Watch Co. emerging. In the 1920s, almost all watches existing in Japan were still imported from overseas. The first CITIZEN watch appeared on the Japanese market in 1924. The price of this watch was about 20% of the monthly basic salary of the staff working for the government. Considering that the imported watches were considered a luxury product, the watch was quite affordable for the citizens. It can say that CITIZEN has opened the door for more people to buy their watches in Japan. Therefore, the first watch was named by the mayor of Tokyo CITIZEN - Stainless steel housing, screwed stainless steel base with glass insert. - Case diameter (without crown): approx. 40 mm. - Case height: approx. 12mm - Display: black hour, minute and second central. - Dial with Arabic numbers and indices. - Luminous material on hands and indexes. - Date at 03:00. - Flat crystal glass. - Knurled crown. - Mechanical movement with automatic winding, cal. 8210-COA - Power reserve: up to approx. 42 hours. - Water-protected 10 ATM (test pressure according to DIN8310). - Stainless steel link strap with safety folding clasp. - Weight: approx. 144 g. - Lug width: 22 mm. - Arm circumference: max.
